what mushrooms can teach us
One of the first signs of life after the atomic bombing of Hiroshima in 1945 was a mushroom: the matsutake. The most expensive and odorous mushroom in the world. According to professor Anna Tsing, this mushroom is a source of inspiration. It teaches us about vulnerability, alienation and capitalism. But above all: it teaches us how to survive an environment disrupted by humans. Programme-maker and philosopher Lisa Doeland talks with Anna Tsing (online).
