the age of surveillance capitalism: shoshana zuboff & haroon sheikh
Tech companies know what you are doing, before you do. How? By collecting all the information you share unconsciously: your likes, what websites you visit, your friends and the time you spend on a web page. Harvard professor Shoshana Zuboff warns against this new reality. According to her, we have entered ‘The Age of Surveillance Capitalism’. A dangerous time, in which our lives are ruled by a deranged market system, where companies like Google, Facebook and Apple know everything about us. Is it the end of self-determination? Can we still escape this business model? Scientist and philosopher Haroon Sheikh will talk about it with economist Shoshana Zuboff.
The programme will be in English.
