Why do we dance? Bogomir Doringer’s research project I Dance Alone revolves, shimmies and darts around this question. According to Bogomir, dancing is essential to questioning our own being and the world around us in times of personal or collective crises. And this while the dance floor – which facilitates this process – is under pressure. High time we talked about going out as an act of resistance and as a mirror to the social and political circumstances that mark us.
Bogomir is a Serbian-Dutch artist, researcher and curator. He is Head of Education and Research at Nxt Museum in Amsterdam and, among others, co-curates the Envisioning Free Spaces Conference in Berlin and Amsterdam.
